I built this tiny house and lived in it for a full year for a total expense of $140.00. I was fortunate enough to find someone to let me park it on 55 acres of wooded land for no rent in exchange for keeping an eye on the property. I used an extension cord for power and propane for my cook top, stove, water heater and cast iron propane heater. I also collected rain water from my roof and used it for doing dishes and taking showers. The only cost for the year was the propane.
The house is built on an 8′ x 20′ utility trailer. there is a loft above the living room that is big enough for a queen size bed and has storage for folded clothes. Listed below are some of the specifics of the tiny house:
There is a 30″ x 30″ shower stall, Separett Privy 501 composting toilet, Hampton H151-LP1 – 18,000 BTU propane heater, Eccotemp FVI12 on demand hot water heater, Kenwood 4.4 cu.ft. fridge, 32″ digital Vizio TV, Suburban 20″ propane 3 burner stove/range.
