A Refreshing And Unique Contemporary Style Tiny Home

While I think the boxy shape and metal siding call to mind an overgrown art-deco toaster (and in fact it is fully wired for electricity) it is in fact, not a toaster but a unique tiny home. It was built by Ron Rusnak of Ashland, Oregon and contains all the essentials in a compact 200 square feet: a kitchen area with a sink, refrigerator, and full-size gas oven; a dining table and a sofa; a sleeping loft overhead; and a small bathroom with its own sink, shower and toilet. Ron is an advocate for tiny living spaces, and plans to use this home as a guest quarters or possibly as a rental to garner a bit of extra income. Based on what we see here, it would be great to see him design a few more tiny homes!

Ron certainly built a design unlike anything we’ve seen, a refreshing departure from the more traditional styles we see from mainstream builders. It might not be your cup of tea, but isn’t expression part of the allure of building your own tiny house?
