This hybrid cottage/gypsy wagon looks like it was plucked straight out of a fairytale, and can be found (probably with a little effort) in over 6,000 acres of woodland among the Mecsek range of southern Hungary. There are no neighbors and no paved roads in the area, but the cabin does have kitchen facilities and both a shower and toilet in its charmingly furnished interior. Outside are the trees, red deer, wild boars, badgers, foxes and kingfishers.

You can spend a weekend there for €315 ($350), and you don’t even have to speak Hungarian to book – Dutch will do just fine.
