The Pond Cottage is a lovely 400-square-foot vacation rental in an even lovelier meadow in Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. It’s hard to imagine a better spot for a few days of idyllic rest and relaxation. There’s a private pond out the front door, bald eagles in the surrounding trees, and trailheads for Olympic National Park within walking distance. Inside, a full kitchen, a spacious bathroom, cozy couches and a memory-foam queen bed cater to all your creature comfort needs in a space that exudes classic cabin style. There’s really no need to get in your car until it’s time to leave, but if you feel like it you’re just minutes away from the area’s beaches, lakes, rivers, mountains and moss-covered forests (as well as lavender fields and skiing, depending on the season). Constructed in the early 21st century, the Pond Cottage sleeps up to five and goes for $225 a night with a two-night minimum stay.
