Over in Colorado, Randy Berry of Tiny House RV’s has built a sweet-looking and very compact home on top of a 2009 Ford E-350. The truck runs on gas, but the house is powered by 500 watts of solar. With a thermostat-controlled direct vent propane heater, double pane windows and rigid foam insulation in the walls and floor, the interior’s certainly going to stay warm enough. Showers, which are outdoors, might get a little chilly in the winter, but do benefit from the on-demand propane water heater which also serves the kitchen sink. There’s an RV-style toilet in an enclosed bathroom inside and a 40 gallon freshwater tank to feed everything.
