Beautifully finished 12-foot modern rustic THOW

It’s entirely possible to build a small THOW for $14,000. It’s even possible to build one, sell it for $14,000 and still make a profit – Trekker Trailers proved that with their 72-square-foot micro house. That meant some fairly basic finish, though, and the modern rustic finish on the equally priced Wanderlust is anything but basic. From the shou sugi ban siding to the custom cabinets to the unique lighting fixtures, this is a very classy looking home. Despite being just 12 feet long, it’s also a very functional one, complete with RV hookups, heated floors and a window-type air conditioner. It has a sleeping ledge; a kitchenette with a double sink, two-burner cook top and fridge/freezer; and a bathroom with a bespoke rain barrel shower and flush toilet. About the only thing it doesn’t have is off-grid capability, and that explains the low price: The Texan owners are moving to a remote property in Montana and won’t be able to take the Wanderlust with them, so they’re selling it at cost.
